The fact that ZAT develops and supplies high-quality innovative solutions for power engineering and industry was also awarded by the Engineering Academy of the Czech Republic. At the annual event that was this year held in historical premises of the Bethlehem Chapel, there are awarded significant technical projects from the field of engineering research.
This year the certification of merit was granted to an experimental project POWER CONTROLLER OF RESEARCH NUCLEAR REACTOR LVR-15. The award is awarded every year to both home and foreign experts and teams for the results of creative effort. The project was realized by the authors´ team led by prof. Ing. Miloš Schlegel, CSc.
The controller is implemented on platform SandRA. Our company was the main supplier of the modernization of the protection and control system (PCS) on reactor LVR15. Main subsuppliers – companies DataPartner and University of West Bohemia (UWB) in Pilsen. The DataPartner designed and supplied a complete subsystem for the measurement of neutron flux, experts from UWB developed a power controller of the research nuclear reactor and prepared the mathematical model of the reactor for the purposes of verification of an entire set of equipment.
„The whole project was demanding as time as is concerned, it lasted six years, we completed the development in 2015. Clarification of the requirements with the customer lasted a long time, then we were looking for suitable subsuppliers and suppliers if very specific components, e.g. motors for reactor control rod drives. The more we are delighted by getting the award as the Engineering Academy acknowledges the projects in case of which there can be proved that they bring benefit for a given field, which the controller LVR-15 meets“, says Ladislav Nový from the Power Engineering Division.
Among the guests and the experts carrying out awarding were e.g. Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade doc. Ing. Karel Havlíček, Ph.D., MBA, rector of the Czech Technical University doc. RNDr. Vojtěch Petráček, CSc., doc. Ing. Miroslav Grégr, CSc. či JUDr. Cyril Svoboda, Ph.D.
Ing. Marek Cédl, Ph.D. took part in the awarding in the Bethlehem Chapel on behalf of ZAT. Marek Cédl realized position control of regulation drives and design of HIL tests of final configuration within the project.
