Non-unit control and information system

The non-unit control and information system is a large-scale system for controlling and monitoring the operation of auxiliary technologies at a nuclear power plant from the central control room for non-block operations.

It includes a GPS real-time source, used both internally within the system and externally for other data source systems.

The system is implemented on the SandRA platform, utilizing the upper HMI level of the SandRA Synergy DCS. It performs safety functions of categories C and N according to ČSN EN 61226. It is communicatively connected to the control system of auxiliary non-unit operations (BoPCS).

Functions of the non-unit control and information computer system

  • Remote control of technology
  • Data collection, processing, analysis and archiving
  • On-screen visualisation, reporting and data printing
  • Communication with related power plant control systems
  • Secure data transfer to external users

Control of auxiliary non-unit operations

The system ensures essential needs of the nuclear power plant, even though it does not belong to either the primary or secondary part of the unit. It unifies the technical solution and centralizes the control of auxiliary operations into fewer permanently staffed workplaces. This allows for better and more efficient coordination of tasks across operational units.

Auxiliary non-unit operations include, for example, control of the water management system, wastewater pumping and treatment stations, process and sewage water sumps, wastewater damping and measurement facilities, energy utilization from gravity wastewater systems, technical gas management, heat exchanger stations, cooling source stations, water treatment plants, and more.

The system performs safety functions in categories C and N in accordance with ČSN EN 61226 and is implemented on the SandRA platform using HMI and Z200 technical equipment. It is communicatively connected to the control and information computer system (NUCIS).

The auxiliary non-unit operations control system, delivered by ZAT a.s., ensures reliable control of technologies essential for the operation of nuclear units.
