Intelligent control of biogas energy sources

The current trend in the energy sector is so-called decentralisation of resources, the main idea of which is to create smaller local energy sources in a given area.

Electricity consumption varies throughout the day and, as it is not possible to store energy on the transmission system, there is a need for flexible management. At certain times energy needs to be fed into the grid, at other times the energy produced needs to be stored (e.g. by storing gas).

Changes in the energy market bring new opportunities for biogas plant operators. This opens up the possibility for operators to become flexibility providers. By implementing an intelligent software tool, the operator is able to react flexibly to current prices on the energy market.
